F.O.C.O.M. Thanks its Supporters for Successful Fundraiser

Happy
New Year to All!
To
kick off the New Year, I would like to share with you
the fundraiser financial report and our plans for 2009.
I am excited to deliver on our promise of “A Brighter
Future” for Cazale and I know you are as well. I
believe these ongoing dialogues are valuable and they
provide us with the opportunity to generate new discussions
and circulate our ideas.
First,
I would like to reflect on what we have done since our
inception. In our limited history, we have achieved quite
a lot. We have a lot to be proud of. However, we all realize
there is much more to be done. With that in mind, the
Fundraising Dinner was a key step to help us achieve several
initiatives, namely:
1)
Promote FOCOM's vision and mission;
2)
Introduce our executive team to our donors and potential
prospects;
3)
Share our short-term and long-term objectives;
4)
Motivate the community to rally behind our shared vision
of a "Brighter Future" for Cazale.
From
my perspective, these goals were met effectively. On the
financial front, I am happy to provide you with the Banquet
Committee financial report of the fundraiser. The total
amount raised was approximately $4,300 in tickets sales,
donations, raffle items, FOCOM merchandises, etc. On the
expense side, we incurred roughly $3,000 in decorations,
appetizers/food, beverage, venue, chairs/tables, promotional
materials, etc. Therefore, our net fundraising profit
totaled roughly $1,300. Additionally, FOCOM has about
$1,500 worth of inventory of unsold promotional items.
We are hopeful that we will sell these items to increase
our cash assets. With that, our total revenue is projected
to be about $2,800.00 for our Dinner. We can provide you
with more details on these transactions if you would like
as we are committed to strong transparency guidelines.
Secondly,
I would like to assess the initial impact of the banquet.
As a result of the presentation, FOCOM has received a
major donation from one of the dinner guests. This particular
guest donated 36 boxes of clothes and several dozens of
air mattresses. Furthermore, members from our NY affiliate
collectively donated about $275. Special thanks to Nounouche
Drouillard for her assistance. Lastly, a few FOCOM members
generously donated clothing which can help the people
in Cazale who are in great need.
Thirdly,
there are a few important dates that I would like you
to mark in your calendar. We are having our first general
meeting on January 11th, 2009 at 4:00 pm at Wutnel Emile’s
place. All are welcome. Our first Game Night for the year
is scheduled on February 28th, 2009 in New York . More
details to come after the general meeting. We are organizing
various productive activities to help us spread the word.
They include picnics, game nights, documentaries, and
much more. We are also planning to launch a website by
the end of the first quarter to further our strategy and
reach our goals. We look forward to your participation
and input in helping the Cazale community. We have collected
a lot of feedback since the dinner, and we are putting
to good use. Please keep them coming.
Lastly,
I would like to end on a note of thanks to all of you
who have contributed their time, talent and funds to such
a worthy cause. As I look back on our short history as
an organization, I have become increasingly convinced
that we will continue to enjoy great success with teamwork
and dedication. With hard word and a strong team spirit,
we can overcome many challenges and help those who are
struggling to make ends meet. Let us make this year another
successful one for FOCOM, and more importantly for those
who are economically disadvantaged.
