Once a beautiful, lush tropical island,
Haiti has fallen on hard times and has experienced many
setbacks. The country now ranks as the poorest country in
the western hemisphere. Families are increasingly feeling
greater pressure to cope and survive. The deepening crisis
has left many families hungry, sick and even homeless. Few
have access to proper healthcare and education, which we
believe are some of the important steps towards self-sufficiency.
Many families are in great need of a lending hand to help
them reclaim and rebuild their lives.
We realize that the country's fortunes will
not turn around overnight and that family hardships won't
go away instantly. However, we are hopeful that together
we can make a difference one person at a time, one community
at a time.
